Member publishers are committed to respecting and upholding its rulings and adhering to the Press Code of Professional Practice. In the event of a complaint the Ombudsman will provide advice and mediation to member publisher
  11. Interaction with other industry bodies to ensure protection of members' interests. Lobbying for members' interests is an important function of the association. We subscribe to a parliamentary monitoring system to keep abreast of legislation and make submissions in respect of legislation affecting members
  12. The Media Credit Co-ordinators (MCC). To contribute to better profitability, and exclusive to members, the MPASA together with Print Media SA operates an agency registered scheme. This provides certain guarantees should agencies go into liquidation. The MCC also keeps a monthly track of monies owed to publishers by all registered agencies
  13. The Association also looks after the interest of its members at industry associations/representatives such as Print Media SA, Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC), Association of Marketers (ASOM), Media Directors Circle (MDC), the Public Relations Institute of SA (PRISA), the National Postal Forum (NPF), the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the Freedom of Expression Trust, SAARF and SABRE
